Is it fair for a traveler or a recent arrival to chronicle her experiences in a new place that seems to her like a different, fascinating "planet" and to celebrate that place's uniqueness by highlighting the word "planet"? Is there something off about the title I've chosen for my "Planet New Mexico" chronicles? Does "Planet" reek too much of exoticism, of narcisism?
Or am I "buscándole la quinta pata al gato" (searching for the cat's fifth leg) and complicating too much something that is actually joyfully simple?

I believe "Planet New Mexico" is perfect as a title. Having been in a unique and very different place-to me-for the past year I often feel like an alien on another planet. Also, I would guess the locals would take pride in such a title as it indicates where they live as a unique area.

I like "Planet New Mexico" very much. But then I started having second thoughts.
I like the name! Perhaps I'm NM-centric too, but I enjoy the fact that we might as well be another planet, as many people as there are even in _this_ country who don't seem to know where we are, or that we exist. And certainly your words affirm and celebrate this place, rather than put it in or out of any unwanted categories.

It's refreshing to hear you speak like you do about NM because a lot of people here complain about it. (They call it "Land of Entrapment" o "La Tierra del Espanto")
